Head Trips Hat Co. was created in 1980. I’ve had a bad hair day my whole life and decided to do something about it. I started crocheting hats out of various materials and would wear them around town. People would stop me on the street and ask me, “Where did you get that hat?” Before long I was making hats for other people. I put them in boutiques “on consignment” for awhile. Then I decided to apply to the Renaissance Pleasure Faire in Southern California. After three attempts I was finally accepted. I had to have some sort of Renaissance persona. Hence, the name, Ye Bag Wench was born. I have been doing the Southern and Northern Renaissance Faires ever since.
